The AP Macroeconomics course is designed to prepare students to succeed on the AP Macroeconomics exam as well as in a college level macroeconomics course. The course begins with an introduction to resources, scarcity, and an in depth analysis of supply and demand. The course then focuses on GDP, inflation, unemployment, business cycles, aggregate demand/aggregate supply, fiscal policy, money and banking, the Federal Reserve System, monetary policy, and international economics. An emphasis is given to the study of national income and price-level determination. The course develops students’ familiarity with economic performance measures, the financial sector, stabilization policies, economic growth and international economics.

The Personal Finance course is a one-semester study of economics and personal financial issues adapted specifically for young adults. The course utilizes many of the components of the personal finance curriculum known as Financial Peace University, developed by financial counselor, best-selling author, and nationally syndicated radio show host Dave Ramsey. The course includes course lectures, a student activities workbook, and various personal financial research activities designed to deliver a financial framework for students to apply to their future lives.
