This course is designed to foster in students a better understanding of themselves and their capacity for leadership within the context of a school and larger community setting. On the premise that education is best measured by what one accomplishes, with what one has learned, the leadership course at BMCHS is structured to provide a practical application of self discovery and leadership principles. The course seeks to create an understanding of the importance of leadership in a democratic society; and to prepare students to assume leadership roles in our school, parishes and the community. This one semester course is structured to help students, better understand their talents, identify their strengths, increase interpersonal communication skills and explore their capacity for community service leadership through service learning projects. In addition, this course is designed to help students develop 5 competencies of leadership through experiential and didactic activities. Students in this class will also be called upon to participate in and facilitate school wide community activities.

This is a blended on-line course for second semester Juniors who have not completed the Oklahoma History state requirement. The course will be administered through the U.S. History course. Students/Parents can contact me at ahathcoat@bmchs.org or on moodle.
